Shannan graduated from the University of North Carolina with a BS in Computer Engineering and an MBA. Now retired, she spent her career in the technology sector. While she was working, she also volunteered in several capacities, including teaching math to new immigrants, teaching ESL classes and assisting in a women’s shelter. Her passion was and still is helping to empower women. 

Shannan became involved with LMI in 2014 with her first sponsorship. Since that time, she’s continued to sponsor a student each year and has been able to visit campus several times. 

Shannan has five children and seven grandchildren. She and her husband are enjoying their retirement traveling and spending time with the grandkids. She currently resides in Arizona.
