“After spending seven days immersed in the life and rhythm of the Leadership Center in Comayagua, Honduras, I return deeply inspired and full of optimism for what lies ahead for LMI.
From the moment I landed and made my way through mountain roads to campus, I sensed that this place was more than a school—it’s a living, breathing ecosystem of hope, transformation, and purpose. The land is rural and remote, yes—but also rich with potential. And the people? Passionate, warm, and mission-driven.
During my time at the Leadership Center, I was welcomed into the fold by the Country Director, Campus Director, Board Chair, and a strong, aligned Center Leadership Team. I participated in training sessions, shared meals, and sat by the fire with students just beginning their journeys. I met the cooks, the teachers, the groundskeepers, each one carrying the mission in their own unique way.
A few key reflections:
Leadership at LMI is lived out daily.
Whether it was watching 2nd-year students guide the 1st-years with confidence, hearing stories from team members who’ve been there since the beginning, or seeing the staff navigate government updates with transparency and care—this community leads by example.
Transformation is happening everywhere.
From the classroom to the kitchen, from budgeting discussions to late-night team bonding over tea—every interaction is infused with growth and purpose. The students are learning, but so are we. I witnessed firsthand how God is working through each person on this campus for a greater good.
Opportunities lie ahead.
There is hunger for more—more strategic alignment, more support for teachers, and more ways to empower students through the ups and downs of leadership development. I’ve listened, I’ve asked questions, and I’ve taken notes. And I’m committed to helping us move from potential to progress.”
