Tutor a Student

The purpose of English tutoring is to help students improve their skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. These sessions are designed to provide extra support and practice, so students can feel more confident and capable when using the English language in both academic and everyday situations.
Tutoring is also a space where students can ask questions and receive help with any topics they find difficult or confusing.
Tutoring sessions can be once or twice a week, depending on the tutor’s time. Each session is 1 hour long.
Students’ Responsibilities:
- Attend tutoring sessions regularly and on time.
- Inform the tutor in advance if unable to attend or if there is a scheduling conflict.
- Come prepared with questions or topics to review during the session.
- Participate actively and respectfully in all tutoring activities.
- Complete any assignments or tasks agreed upon during the tutoring sessions.
- Maintain open communication with the tutor regarding academic progress and challenges.
- Take responsibility for their own learning by applying study techniques and organizing their time effectively.
- The student must email the tutor and CC Elida in advance with the questions or areas in which she needs support, at least two days before the tutoring session.
Students’ Consequences of Not Attending or Being Late to Tutoring Sessions
- Unjustified absences will be recorded as unexcused.
- Frequent tardiness will also be recorded and considered a lack of commitment.
- In both cases, a report will be submitted to the Academic Manager.
- These situations may negatively impact your academic progress and limit access to personalized support.
